No, it wasn\u2019t our friend the cookie monster again&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I could overhear the good old <em>\u201ccount your calories, workout more, eat less\u201d<\/em> lecture about fat loss, as he advised her to do 30 minutes on the elliptical everyday to speed up results.<\/p>\n<p>Really?<\/p>\n<p>Un-freakin-believable.<\/p>\n<p>If you think that all you have to do in order to lose fat is to burn more calories than you consume\u2026<\/p>\n<p><b>\u2026sorry, but you\u2019ve been misinformed.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>That, my friend, is the #1 fat loss lie.<\/p>\n<p>Think about it \u2013 if it were that easy, wouldn\u2019t we all be walking around with six-pack abs, minus the thousands of books on diet and exercise?<\/p>\n<p>And no, you don\u2019t have to work out more to burn more fat, that\u2019s a lie too. Even while on paper it seems like the most obvious thing to do.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, it\u2019s why we end up even more frustrated\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2026we spend more time working out and still\u2026 NOTHING.<\/p>\n<p>The thing is, working out longer can actually cause you to <b>STORE more fat.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Boom. Bad news.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cbad guy\u201d hormone is cortisol, a hormone <b>that actually PROMOTES fat storage<\/b> AND muscle breakdown. And longer workouts create more of this hormone in your body. Now if you\u2019re 19 and shredded, you probably don\u2019t have a problem with cortisol. But for most of us, those days are gone, and so our workouts need to change.<\/p>\n<p>So if you\u2019re not seeing the results in the mirror, it\u2019s not your fault. You simply just need to \u201cshift\u201d your hormones into fat burn mode with shorter workouts.
