{"id":4623,"date":"2013-08-08T08:36:47","date_gmt":"2013-08-08T12:36:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fatlossaccelerators.com\/site\/?p=4623"},"modified":"2014-04-10T21:34:02","modified_gmt":"2014-04-11T01:34:02","slug":"barbell-complexes-for-fat-loss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/fatlossaccelerators.com\/site\/barbell-complexes-for-fat-loss\/","title":{"rendered":"Barbell Complexes for Fat Loss"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today, I have a cool video with Shawna K that will show you the correct technique for exercise transitions when doing barbell complexes.<\/p>\n<p>But first\u2026<\/p>\n<h2>What\u2019s the number one mistake when doing sprint workouts?<\/h2>\n<p>Skipping rest breaks.<\/p>\n<p>Folks often skip rest breaks because they feel they don\u2019t need it.<\/p>\n<p>This may sound strange, but <strong>timed rest between the intervals is just as important as the interval itself.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n<p>It allows your body to slightly recover, so you can bring 110% intensity to the next sprint interval. You have to go all in.<\/p>\n<p>There is one main reason why folks skip rest breaks. And it\u2019s not because they are too cool for school.<\/p>\n<p>The thing is, they\u2019re not <strong><em>actually<\/em><\/strong> sprinting. Meaning not enough intensity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>So how do you really sprint?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Go ALL-IN. A sprint is 9\/10 effort level. Every muscle is firing and adrenaline is pumping through your body. Imagine a grizzly bear is chasing you. Now sprint! You need to run for your life.<\/p>\n<p>If you bring the right intensity, you should feel your lungs and muscles burning towards the end of the interval, and need to take a break.<\/p>\n<p>Boom. That\u2019s how you know you\u2019re in business. When it\u2019s all over, the afterburn effect will kick in and you continue burning calories for hours.<\/p>\n<h1>Earn Your Rest Breaks<\/h1>\n<p>Listen, missing this rest break does not make you a hero. In fact, skipping the rest lowers the intensity and turns the whole \u201cinterval\u201d workout into steady state cardio session, which is the one thing we\u2019re trying to avoid.<\/p>\n<p>Stop. Walk. Stand. Whatever you do, you <strong>must<\/strong> lower the intensity between the intervals.<\/p>\n<p>The same goes when doing Accelerator workouts. Most of the barbell complexes have at least 90 seconds rest \u2013 for a reason. As you get stronger, you need to increase the load to continue making progress and seeing results.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s essential you use correct technique when doing Accelerators, so you can train efficiently at high intensity without getting injured.<\/p>\n<p>Now it\u2019s time for a treat.<\/p>\n<p>In this video, <a href=\"http:\/\/challengeworkouts.com\">Shawna Kaminski of ChallengeWorkouts.com <\/a>will demonstrate the exercise transitions for doing a barbell complex. You don&#8217;t put the weight down between exercises, and only need one weighted barbell.<\/p>\n<h1>Barbell Complexes for Fat Loss<\/h1>\n<div class=\"videoWrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IqhD7WNjHwY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<p>Here&#8217;s are the exercises and sets\/reps for the workout:<\/p>\n<p>A) Deadlift x 8<br \/>\nB) High Pull x 8<br \/>\nC) Push Press x 8<br \/>\nD) Front Squat x 8<br \/>\nE) Alternating Reverse Lunge x 8<\/p>\n<p>No rest between the exercises. At the end of the circuit, rest for 90 seconds. Do 4-6 rounds.<\/p>\n<p>Practice your transitions during a warm up, using a lighter weight. Once you get the hang out it &#8211; it&#8217;s time to rock out.<\/p>\n<p>One last thing: Don\u2019t be afraid to shorten your workout and push the intensity. Your conditioning workout on off-days should be no longer than 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>And remember; never underestimate the power of recovery in accelerating fat loss.<\/p>\n<p>Have an awesome day,<\/p>\n<p>KV<\/p>\n<p>PS.
