{"id":7018,"date":"2015-11-02T11:28:59","date_gmt":"2015-11-02T16:28:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fatlossaccelerators.com\/site\/?p=7018"},"modified":"2015-11-01T21:12:54","modified_gmt":"2015-11-02T02:12:54","slug":"1-problem-with-hiit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/fatlossaccelerators.com\/site\/1-problem-with-hiit\/","title":{"rendered":"#1 problem with HIIT"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>#1 problem with HIIT<\/h1>\n<p>Here\u2019s a common question that comes across my desk, and it reminds me of the\u00a0#1 problem with HIIT aka high intensity interval training\u00a0(that most\u00a0people don&#8217;t know about).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;What do you think of spinning workouts 3 times a week as interval training?&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My reply\u2026<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s fine, physiologically speaking. You&#8217;ll definitely get fit and lose fat with spinning.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-532\" src=\"http:\/\/fatlossaccelerators.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/spinn-300x200.png\" alt=\"fat loss workouts\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/fatlossaccelerators.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/spinn-300x200.png 300w, http:\/\/fatlossaccelerators.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/spinn.png 514w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>However&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>You will eventually end up with an overuse injury.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Might be in 2 weeks, might be in 2 years.<\/p>\n<p>But it will happen.<\/p>\n<p>Last year I worked with a client in her 60\u2019s who was\u00a0addicted to spinning for 5 years. <strong>And she paid the price. <\/strong>When she walked, the pain in her knees and hips was so unbearable\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2026she even felt like her legs would give way walking down stairs.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn&#8217;t pretty.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>You see,\u00a0the #1 problem with traditional interval training is\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Overuse injury from repetitive movement.<\/p>\n<p>If you spin for 45 minutes, you&#8217;ll end up doing about 4500 repetitions of the same movement. And if you have even the slightest biomechanical problem in your body (like most people do), it will magnify the issue and turn into an injury hot spot.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s just like rubbing two sticks together\u2026if you do it long enough, you&#8217;ll create friction that will start a fire.<\/p>\n<p>But in your body, you&#8217;ll generate friction and end\u00a0up wearing down your connective tissue until\u2026\u00a0BOOM welcome to injury-ville.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By the way, overuse injury is also the #1 problem with weight training.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you do too many reps with too much intensity and don\u2019t follow a structured program, you&#8217;ll end up with chronic pain and problems. And the most commonly damaged joint are the shoulders.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The solution?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Changing your training methods, exercises, rep schemes, and programs on a regular basis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do you do that?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/bodyweightcardio500.com\/afterburn-accelerators\"><span style=\"color:
