Research shows poor eating habits, insufficient nutrients and not enough exercise can cause your metabolism to slow down.<\/p>\n<p>But how can you tell if you have a slow metabolism?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-7446\" src=\"http:\/\/fatlossaccelerators.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/metabolism-warning-signs-300x151.png\" alt=\"metabolism warning signs\" width=\"300\" height=\"151\" srcset=\"http:\/\/fatlossaccelerators.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/metabolism-warning-signs-300x151.png 300w, http:\/\/fatlossaccelerators.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/metabolism-warning-signs.png 759w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Believe it or not, a slow metabolic rate IS reversible!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>And now before we go any further, I just want to get this out of this way. Because I definitely don\u2019t want you to get the wrong idea\u2026<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>If you hit a weight loss plateau, it does NOT automatically mean your metabolism is slow or damaged.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Read that last line again, so it really sinks in.<\/p>\n<p>And while we\u2019re on this topic, I don\u2019t believe your metabolism is \u201cbroken\u201d. I hate that word.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBroken\u201d implies forever. And it\u2019s negative. You can push hard and do some pretty vicious things to yourself, but you can recover from it by taking care of yourself \u2013 not just eating clean \u2013 but eating for more calories maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>Alright, enough ranting. Let\u2019s get to the 5 warning signs your metabolism is slowing\u2026<\/p>\n<h2>1. You find it easier to gain weight than to lose it \u2013 even with no change in your diet.<\/h2>\n<p>What has worked for you in the past simply doesn\u2019t make a difference anymore.<\/p>\n<p>(If you do have unexplained weight loss or weight gain, make sure you go to your local physician to check there are no underlying medical issues)<\/p>\n<h2>2. You can\u2019t lose weight no matter how much you exercise<\/h2>\n<p>We\u2019ve had this jammed down our throats for years\u2026<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cLosing weight is all about calories in vs calories out\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Theoretically, it should work. Doesn\u2019t matter what you eat, just burn off more calories than you consume. I can tell you first hand that\u2019s NOT true.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve had clients training for half marathons (in a high calorie deficit) who struggled to lose a pound. Even men who trained 4-5 times a week and couldn\u2019t lose their beer gut. Why? Because fat loss is chemistry. You notice cellulite in new places<\/h2>\n<p>You\u2019re not alone. 40% of women (including fit, strong women and Hollywood stars) have cellulite on the back of their thighs, butt and hips.<\/p>\n<p>But if you notice cellulite on the front of your legs \u2013 that\u2019s a metabolic red flag.<\/p>\n<p>Why? When your body starts using muscle for fuel, you lose collagen and elastin. Soft fatty deposits are left behind\u2026 And that\u2019s cellulite. It can leave your skin looking stretched. This also makes cellulite more noticeable, and that\u2019s why body fat starts to look lumpy and distorted.<\/p>\n<p>Cellulite forms in the areas with least circulation, so without any activity, it\u2019s very hard to get rid of it.<\/p>\n<h2>4. You have low energy, hair loss and dry\/cracked skin<\/h2>\n<p>These are signs of thyroid hormone imbalance. Since your thyroid is the master gland of your metabolism, if you\u2019re noticing any of these symptoms your metabolism could be slowing.<\/p>\n<p>Approximately 200+ million people worldwide are now suffering from thryroid imbalance, according to researchers. Make sure you seek help from your physician.<\/p>\n<h2>5. You get horrible sugar cravings in the afternoon<\/h2>\n<p>If your body isn\u2019t producing efficient energy form the foods you\u2019re eating \u2013 you\u2019ll experience sugar cravings.<\/p>\n<p>Why in the afternoon?<\/p>\n<p>Blood sugar dips, which is why you crave instant energy (hello little sugary friend).
