Ready to try it?<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s exactly how to do the side plank with hip dip:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JYUbJjE_6Vk\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Why is this move so effective?<\/p>\n<p>It forces your shoulders, side abs and hips to play nicely together, so you can move more efficiently and safely sculpt lean definition. Plus, it\u2019s a great exercise to strengthen your core and the muscles that help to stabilize your torso, so you prevent back injuries. (boomshackalacka!)<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why the side plank and all it\u2019s wonderfully fun variations will rock your world.<\/p>\n<p>Note: If you\u2019re a beginner, start out with the basic side plank. Make sure you can hold each side for at least 30 seconds before you add the hip dip. Why? Because you need a solid foundation of support. No point trying to get all fancy when you can\u2019t do the basics. You\u2019ll just end up doing it wrong, and then no one wins.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cKV, I&#8217;m struggling with the side plank. IF your goal is to compete in a bodybuilding contest.<\/p>\n<p>However, I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s wise to skip training your obliques.<\/p>\n<p>Reason why is simple:<\/p>\n<p>You need strong obliques to stabilize your core and generate power to rotate your torso! And&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>If you have general lower back pain\u2026 a lot of the time the issue comes from your obliques not activating and firing correctly (yep, I\u2019m talking about those side abs muscles again that stabilize your core).<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why it\u2019s essential to include <strong>THIS exercise<\/strong> in your routine!<\/p>\n<p>Now\u00a0here\u2019s the good
